Irish conservationists report that across Ireland more and more people are welcoming frogs (Rana temporaria) into their gardens.

 Details
After asking members of the public the report any sightings of frogs, the Irish Peatland Conservation Council were astonished to find that 40% of the records returned were related to garden ponds - that was double the percentage of a similar survey conducted in 1997. Apparently more and more people are creating ponds and bogs in their gardens and welcoming the frogs which find them ideal breeding habitats. Apparently frogs are seen as a 'must have garden accessory'!
